Salad Years

Are you finding the salad years not so slimming as salad itself? Feeling too busy with life and work to eat healthy and exercise?  Join me, a busy lady feeling the physical stresses of middle age, as I log four months of improving my health while going to school full time!
 
Besides college, I'm doing a part-time internship in grant writing. I have a husband, two adult children with whom I love to visit, a dog, a cat, a big house and yard, and church responsibilities. Finding time to cook healthy and exercise isn't easy, but 15 pounds of me has to go!

Let's see what just a little extra effort can do... and if you want to join me, so much the better. C'mon, let's make sure we eat those fruits and veggies, avoid the junk food, and MOVE every day!  I'll be updating you at least once a week with my progress and what I've learned works or doesn't work for me.  I look forward to reading about your quick, healthy meals and exercises on the fly as well!

  1. Hi Carolyn. It's mom21. Didn't feel like creating a profile. I'm right there with you. I don't have a husband just a very, very busy 15yo girl that will graduate in 2 years so it's running aorund everywhere, and I work 30-40 hours a week from home. I love cooking and hate exercising, therefore the weight issue. I will join you in your journey, and hopefully, I can lose 20 by Thanksgiving. Good luck

  2. yay for your first blog post! :D blogging is like exercise: you may not always feel like it, but if you keep at it you'll find the results are worth it ;) post some good healthy recipes, you know i need them, haha! luv ya!

    Great idea for a blog! I'm Fushia. Food isn't my problem; it's the moving part. I'll be keeping an eye on your blog. It can't hurt to come up with a few healthy recipes.

    1. Hello and welcome! Finding time to exercise is hard. I try to walk a little every day, and this week I'll be adding in some weights and stretches here and there.

  5. What a great blog idea! I totally need a blog like this to follow. I have been losing weight watching my sugar intake (most of the time), but really need to get into a fitness routine. But, like you, I'm BUSY!
